Meets when needed, does much work via email. Chair: AMY Grace
The Organization Committee helps keep the Federal Hill Main Street program running and keeps lines of communication open to the public. This committee is responsible for enlisting and tracking volunteers, producing the newsletter, managing administrative, office and personnel matters, running the Main Street booth at festivals, and maintaining the web site, www.historicfederalhill.org. The committee also initiated a note card project using local artists in a competition and have sold the note cards featuring scenes of Federal Hill throughout the neighborhood.
As the backbone of Historic Federal Hill Main Street, the Organization Committee launched a new project in 2004 to promote the business community of Federal Hill. Committee members, some of whom who are professional videographers, produced a 15 minute video featuring scenes of the business district and interviews with business owners, including some who are new to the area as well as some who have been in business in Federal Hill for more than fifty years. The video has been aired in the Main Street booth at the street festivals and at the new Baltimore Visitor Center in the Inner Harbor during Federal Hill week. The committee will continue to find other relevant venues to show prospective businesses why doing business in Federal Hill is good for their business.
The Organization Committee also promotes the Federal Hill Main Street membership program, organizing an annual membership drive each Fall, and the Annual Meeting in January.
If you would like more information about this committee's projects, or if you are interested in volunteering with this committee, please contact the Organization Committee at organization@historicfederalhill.org.
